Gettin’ Off the Slacker Bus

They call me the luddite. With my silly but true resistance to computers and internet and everything technologically oriented, my family gasped a big one when they heard I was starting up a website for the new farm.

Truth be told, it’s been both a physical and a mental struggle to plop myself down in front of the computer and take the time to write an article or a facebook post or even post a simple photo to instagram. Navigating social media is all brand new to me. The slacker. When it comes to these things, at least.

But, duh! If I want to not only attract new customers and widen my audience, but really put a big foot forward into “nourishing community” in more ways than just providing produce, then of course I need to quit slacking and change my old ways of ignoring the computer. So today I’m back. New posts may be short and sweet, but I’ll be here.

A couple changes are in order, however:

1) Recipe-of-the-Week will now switch to Recipe-of-the-Month, until further notice. I’m not a star in the kitchen, so it takes A LOT of effort to develop a recipe and type it up legibly, etc. etc. I have a huge new respect for cookbook authors, chefs, food blogger folks, and the like. SO much time that I don’t have.

2) This one’s for you, dear reader. Yes, you!  I need some feedback. Please. Comment on the website, on social media, or come to the market and tell me your thoughts on this website thing, and the farm thing, and everything else. Good or bad. Ugly or pretty. Otherwise I have no idea what’s working and what’s not.  True, I can see site stats for number of page views, but I have no way of knowing whether that’s 30 new faces, or my mom got really excited one day.  I want this all to be interesting to YOU.  That’s the whole point.  And I won’t know unless you tell me. Please please please please please!

Thanks for reading!  Let’s see if this works.  And thanks for being a part of this journey with me!  If you keep reading and keep eating, I’ll quit slacking!

P.S. – Thanks Mom!
